On the way out of Estes Park we drove through Thompson Canyon. Not the place to be in a flood.
Our first stop on the way back was the historic carousel in Burlington, Colorado. We figured this would be a good break for Mike, as there isn't much else to do in the 600 miles between Denver and Kansas City, MO. Despite the searing heat Mike enjoyed the ride.
Since we really had some time to kill, we headed across town to "Old Town", a collection of relocated buildings gathered to simulate an old town in Colorado. Barely interesting, and made almost unbearable by the 100 degree heat in the afternoon.
